Merz says Gaza plan 'encouraging'

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Thursday welcomed the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas but  cautioned that it was "not yet finalised."

"The developments are encouraging," Merz told a press conference, adding: "We are confident that a solution can be reached this week."
