Israeli army says Hezbollah anti-tank fighters killed in mosque strike

The Israeli army said it had killed Hezbollah fighters from an anti-tank unit inside a mosque in southern Lebanon and uncovered a cache of weapons, according to a statement by its spokesperson Avichay Adraee.

The military said troops from the 91st Division identified Hezbollah anti-tank members positioned inside a mosque in southern Lebanon. Following the detection, Israeli forces struck the site, killing the fighters and “removing the threat,” the statement said.

In a separate operation, the army said forces from the 769th Brigade identified a militant monitoring troop movements from inside a building. The Israeli air force then carried out a strike, killing the individual, according to the statement.

The army added that troops from the Givati Brigade targeted additional militant cells and seized large quantities of weapons allegedly used by Hezbollah fighters. The cache included explosive devices, various types of rifles, and other military equipment, it said.
