Lebanon part of immediate ceasefire between Iran and US, says Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that Iran and the United States, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, including in Lebanon, effective without delay.

In a statement, Sharif said he was “pleased” with the development. He also extended an invitation to Iranian and American delegations to attend talks in Islamabad on April 10, aimed at reaching a more comprehensive and lasting agreement to resolve outstanding disputes.

He said both parties had shown “remarkable wisdom and understanding” in pursuing diplomacy, adding that the planned talks, dubbed the “Islamabad Talks,” could pave the way for sustainable peace.
