Lebanese PM Salam: Lebanon mobilizing diplomatic efforts to ensure ceasefire

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized that since the outbreak of the conflict, the government’s top priority has been to halt the fighting.

With the announcement of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire, facilitated in part through Pakistani efforts, Salam said Lebanon is intensifying its diplomatic and political communications to secure a ceasefire that includes the country.

He emphasized that “no one negotiates on behalf of Lebanon except the Lebanese state, through its constitutional institutions, safeguarding its sovereignty and the interests of its people.”
