US official to Asharq: No link between US-Iran and Lebanon-Israel negotiations

A U.S. official from the State Department told "Asharq" that there is no link between the U.S.-Iran negotiations in Islamabad and the Israel-Lebanon talks.

The official said, "Iran dragged the Lebanese people into a war so cannot pretend to be Lebanon's protector," adding that "Iran will not be allowed to dictate the future of Lebanon any more. These talks are part of that effort."
