US Senator Graham to LBCI: Trump sees path to Lebanon agreement, backs role of talks in ceasefire efforts

U.S. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham said in an interview with LBCI that he spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday about Lebanon, adding that Trump is “very enthusiastic” about reaching agreements with the country but stressed the need to eliminate Hezbollah.

Graham said Trump believes that the weaker Iran becomes, the greater the chances of reaching a solution in Lebanon.

He added that Trump expressed admiration for Lebanon and the Lebanese diaspora, noting that Lebanese people have achieved significant success across the United States.

Responding to a question on whether the talks held Tuesday between the Israeli and Lebanese ambassadors could help pave the way for a potential ceasefire, Graham said, “Yes, 100%.”
