US Embassy in Beirut says Ambassador Michel Issa met Trump and Rubio

U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon Michel Issa met on April 15 with President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, where they reaffirmed their commitment to ongoing diplomatic efforts, the U.S. Embassy said.

According to the statement, the officials emphasized continued support for the ongoing talks and for the work of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut aimed at helping Lebanon consolidate state authority.

They also reiterated backing for efforts to ensure that weapons remain exclusively in the hands of the state and to restore full sovereignty.
