Speaker Berri urges displaced residents to delay return after ceasefire

Lebanon’s Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri called on displaced residents to delay returning to their towns and villages, stressing the importance of safety following the ceasefire announcement.

In a statement, Berri addressed residents of southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, and the southern suburbs of Beirut, acknowledging their longing to return after displacement and the sacrifices made during the conflict.

He said that prioritizing safety and protecting lives remains a foremost duty, describing it as the truest form of loyalty to the land.

Berri urged citizens to exercise patience and refrain from returning to their hometowns until the situation becomes clearer and developments unfold in line with the ceasefire agreement.
