Trump: Lebanon-Israel ceasefire to include Hezbollah, peace efforts underway

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will include Hezbollah, expressing cautious optimism about the prospects for peace.

Speaking about the ongoing efforts, Trump said, “We’ll see if we can achieve peace,” referring to the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

He added that he had held a “great conversation” with Lebanon’s president and Israel’s prime minister, noting that he plans to meet both leaders.

Trump also said he may visit Lebanon “at the appropriate time,” and suggested that the Lebanese and Israeli leaders could meet at the White House within the next week or two.

On Iran, Trump said the next round of talks could take place early next week. He added that if an agreement is reached in Islamabad, he may travel there.
