Lebanese Army detains nine for celebratory gunfire after ceasefire took effect

Units of the Lebanese Army detained nine individuals in Beirut and its southern suburbs after they opened fire into the air following the implementation of the ceasefire.

According to a military statement, those arrested include seven Lebanese nationals, along with one Syrian and one Palestinian. The incidents took place overnight on April 17, shortly after the ceasefire took effect.

Investigations have been launched, and the detainees will be referred to the relevant judicial authorities. The army said efforts are ongoing to track down others involved in the shooting.
