Qatar says 'supports all diplomatic efforts' to end Iran war

Qatar said on Tuesday that it supports all diplomatic efforts to end the war with Iran after U.S. president Donald Trump announced there had been communication between Washington and Tehran.

"We support all diplomatic efforts within this framework, whether through official or unofficial channels and contacts," Qatar's foreign ministry spokesman Majed al-Ansari said.

"I wish to emphasize here that there are currently no direct Qatari efforts underway regarding mediation between the two parties," he added.
