Turkey says killed gunman was linked to 'terror group'

A gunman who was killed in a shootout Tuesday with police outside Israel's consulate building in Istanbul's business district was affiliated with "a terror group," officials said.

The interior ministry said Yunus E.S. "was captured dead" and "had connections with a terrorist group that exploits religion."

Turkish officials would not immediately reveal the group the attacker was linked to but Turkish media said it could be Islamic State group.
