US Treasury Secretary says will urge G7 to adopt sanctions regime on Iran

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Monday that he will urge the Group of Seven major industrialized nations to adopt a sanctions regime aimed at preventing the financing of Iran’s “war machine.”

Bessent also described the U.S. delegation’s visit to China, led by President Donald Trump, as “highly successful.”
