China says Taiwan 'punishment will not stop' until independence push ends

China on Wednesday warned Taiwan that "punishment will not stop" until its leaders stop pushing for what Beijing says is independence from the mainland.

"As long as Taiwan independence provocation continues, anti-independence punishment will not stop," foreign ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun told a regular briefing as China's military held a second day of drills around the island.
