Macron calls for 'European preference' in tech sector

French President Emmanuel Macron called Tuesday for more action to promote European alternatives to global tech giants, as the EU strives to catch up in the sector.

"I strongly believe that European preference needs to become our guiding principle, starting with public procurement," he told a summit in Berlin.
