Taiwan opposition leader lands in Shanghai on rare visit

Taiwan's main opposition leader landed in China on Tuesday, Chinese state media reported, kicking off a rare visit aimed at building cross-strait "peace."

Kuomintang (KMT) chairwoman Cheng Li-wun, who is the party's first leader to visit China in a decade, landed at a Shanghai airport in the early afternoon, state news agency Xinhua reported.
