Hostage-taking at German bank over, no one hurt: Police

A hostage situation at a bank in western Germany ended Friday after officers freed two people unharmed, but the suspects escaped, police said.

Officers entered the bank branch in the town of Sinzig but did not find any of the suspects, police said, adding that investigators now believe that "immediately after locking the individuals in the vault, the perpetrator or perpetrators left the scene by means as yet unknown."
