Several nations request UN Security Council meet on Israel Gaza City plan: Diplomats

Several countries have requested an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council over Israeli plans to "take control" of Gaza City, two diplomatic sources told AFP Friday.

"As we speak, there will be a number of countries on our behalf and on their own behalf (that) will be requesting a meeting of the Security Council," the Palestinian ambassador to the U.N. Riyad Mansour had told reporters earlier.
