Italy condemns Israeli attacks on Lebanon, expresses support for ceasefire

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, in a phone call with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Wednesday evening, condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, which today targeted neighborhoods in Beirut, its suburbs, Mount Lebanon, the Bekaa, and the South.

Tajani expressed Italy’s solidarity with Lebanon and its people during these difficult circumstances and affirmed his country’s readiness to contribute to de-escalation and easing the suffering of the Lebanese population.

The two leaders also discussed recent developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as measures to restore stability in affected countries.
