President Aoun receives French Ambassador, discusses ceasefire prospects

President Joseph Aoun met on Friday at Baabda Palace with Hervé Magro, who expressed his country’s condolences over the victims of recent Israeli attacks, particularly those that targeted residential areas in Beirut, its suburbs, Mount Lebanon, the Bekaa, and the south last Wednesday, reiterating France’s condemnation of the escalation.

Magro said he also discussed with the president recent developments, including statements about the possibility of launching direct negotiations between Lebanon and Israel to halt hostilities and restore stability to the region.
