Economy minister condemns attack on Civil Defense and medical teams as violation of international law

Lebanon’s Economy and Trade Minister Amer Bisat condemned what he described as the deliberate Israeli targeting of Civil Defense personnel, ambulance teams, and medical staff, calling it a repeated violation of international humanitarian law.

In a post on X, Bisat said the attacks are draining the medical sector and weakening Lebanon’s ability to overcome the current phase, while also constituting a clear breach of the ceasefire agreement.

He offered condolences to the General Directorate of Civil Defense over the killing of three of its members and expressed solidarity with the Interior Ministry following the incident.

Bisat also wished a speedy recovery to wounded members of the Lebanese Army and injured civilians.
