UNIFIL delivers 600 food parcels to displaced families from South Lebanon in Sidon

United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon said it continues to support displaced families from southern Lebanon, both inside and outside its area of operations, amid ongoing humanitarian needs.

In the southern city of Sidon on Sunday, UNIFIL helped deliver food aid to families currently living outside collective shelters.

The mission said UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Diodato Abagnara oversaw the delivery of 600 food parcels to municipalities in southern Lebanon for distribution to displaced families at the warehouses of the organization Action Against Hunger in Al-Helaliyah.

Municipal leaders from Maaroub, Selaa, Debl, Chehabiyeh and Wadi Jilou attended the handover of the aid packages.

UNIFIL added that it is coordinating with local authorities and humanitarian partners to help ensure assistance reaches the families most in need.

Alongside its peacekeeping duties, the mission said it continues efforts to ease daily pressures and respond to community needs within its available capacities and resources.
