US officials say pilot rescued after F-15 was shot down in Iran

Two U.S. officials told Reuters that the United States rescued a pilot whose F-15 Eagle was shot down in Iran.

The officials did not provide further details about the rescue operation, and the Pentagon has not yet issued any comment.

The pilot was the second crew member of the two-person F-15 aircraft that Iran said its air defenses had shot down on Friday. Reuters had reported on Friday that the first crew member had already been rescued.
