Macron says France and Britain ready to lead mission in Strait of Hormuz

French President Emmanuel Macron said Monday that France and Britain are prepared to lead a mission in the Strait of Hormuz, with support from the Netherlands and Italy, to help reopen the strategic waterway once a U.S.-Iran agreement enters into force.

Macron said the mission could be deployed within two to three days.

He also said that reopening the Strait of Hormuz while imposing transit fees would violate international law.
